First 5 California Supports the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

The passage of the Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has resulted in new funds for early learning and the Office of Head Start will soon release a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the creation and expansion of Early Head Start programs throughout the nation. First 5 California, in partnership with WestEd (www.wested.org/cs/we/view/pg/3), Preschool California (www.preschoolcalifornia.org/) and the California Head Start Association (www.caheadstart.org) are offering training and technical assistance to organizations planning to respond to this RFP. The goal of these trainings is to assist organizations to develop strong applications, which will result in more quality services for California’s children 0-5 and their families.
