| Health Coverage for Kids
A child's overall health can make a difference in how he or she will do in school. A child who is sick might miss class, struggle in school and even have learning problems. Families without health insurance often cannot get health care for their children and must take their children to the emergency room when they do become ill. Unfortunately, one of every 10 children in California does not have health insurance, either because they cannot afford it or they do not qualify. There are also many families who are not aware of the variety of insurance programs available for their children.
