The Paid Family Leave insurance program provides up to six weeks of monetary benefits for parents to bond with a new child after birth, adoption, or foster care placement.

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) is another option for some eligible parents to take unpaid leave from their jobs with job protection and health insurance coverage. Ask your employer about FMLA coverage.
